Day 285: Time to go home

Truth be told I’ve been ready to go home for a couple days now.  I can’t get past the amount of money we spend to eat each meal, let alone seek out entertainment.  I just don’t see the added value in Maui that causes it to be so much more expensive than other islands I’ve visited.

They say the island can curse you.  Maybe it’s cursed us for not being enraptured with its beauty.  Perhaps we’ll pay the ultimate price for not putting aside practicality and throwing money to the wind.

If that’s how the island choses to treat its visitors, it’s definitely not worth the time, effort and expense to travel here.  At this point, I just want to go home.  I want to be around things that are familiar.  I want to see my family and hug my pets.  I mean the island no disrespect, but it’s not my version of paradise.  I came here with great love in my heart…and an intention to live gently.  But I have to be honest and admit that this place is not meant for me so I’ll gracefully let it go.

It’s time to go home.  Aloha.
